Lions Club International 324 J conducts key member get together


Chennai: The Lions International District 324 J organised an annual event called Key Member Get Together at Hotel Hilton in Chennai on Sunday, with a view to sharing ideas on matters relating to mutual benefits of the members across the specturm.

The purpose: The purpose of the get together was to highlight the philanthropic activities of the members who had gone beyond the extra mile to motivate others towards making their contribution for the overall welfare of the society.

The motto: Lions International, formed in 1917 by a great philanthropist Melvin Jones, has spread its wings in 200 countries with more than 1.3 million members.  The motto of the organization is --We Serve.

TN is the biggest multiple: In India, Tamil Nadu (324) is the biggest multiple with a membership of 50,000 +.  The multiple consists of 13 sub districts and District 324 J is one among them.

Membership growth: Lions organization strongly believes in more hands and more service.  Hence, it consciously concentrates on membership growth for the organization to serve the society with more vigour and speed.  Membership is only by invitation and the new member is sponsored by any one of the existing members. The member who sponsors new members to Lions organization is called a Key Member and they are ranked according to the number of members sponsored by them.

Special recognition: This year the key member get together was organized by District Chairperson Lion K K Muniyandi. Around 400 key members were honoured with a special recognition for securing the highest key members. 

The key participants: Lion B V Ravindran, District Governor, was the Chief Guest. Justice R Venkatraman, former Judge, Madras High Court, was the Guest of Honour. Lion S V Manickam, Multiple chairman, Lion T Rajapandian, Event chairman, and a host of lion leaders graced the event.

Recipient of 100 Member Key: Past District Governor Lion S Nagin, the recipient of 100 Member Key, gave the acceptance speech on behalf of all the key members honoured on the occasion. Fantastic arrangements were made by Lion K K Muniyandi for making the event a memorable one.

Over 35 Colleges Unite for a Vibrant Cultural Celebration: Sardar Euphoria 2K23 Hosted by A.M. Jain College

Chennai, 08th Oct 2023:  A.M. Jain College in Meenambakkam, Chennai proudly hosted their Annual Inter-Collegiate cultural fest, Sardar Euphoria 2K23  on October 06th and 07th, 2023. The two day inter-collegiate cultural event witnessed active participation from over 35 prominent colleges across Chennai engaging in 16+ diverse on-stage and off-stage activities including dance, music, fashion walk, photography and more.  The highly sought-after overall trophy was clinched by Madras Christian College. Cultural festival 'Kalaisangamam' celebrated at A. M. Jain College

Chennai; Agurchand Manmull Jain College in Meenambakkam, Chennai celebrated their intra college cultural festival, Kalaisangamam on 11th of March.  Many students from various departments participated in the cultural fest which included music, dance and variety. College Secretary, Mr. Udhan Kumar Chordia with the committee member Mr. Panna Lal Chordia, Mr. Bhavnesh Deora, College Principal Dr. M. Venkataramanan and Dean Dr. M.M Ramya were the chief guest of the event.  Around 5,000 people including students and staff attended the cultural fest.
