EAM Jaishankar Inaugurates Sri Lankan Exhibition at NGMA and Highlights Growing Relations Between India-Sri Lanka


20th March, Chennai: The Sri Lankan exhibition "Geoffrey Bawa: It's Essential to Be There" at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi was inaugurated by India's External Affairs Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar. India's Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi was also present on the occasion. This landmark exhibition features the works of the late Geoffrey Bawa, the iconic Sri Lankan architect. The exhibition has been organized jointly by the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi and the Geoffrey Bawa Trust to mark the 75th anniversary of India-Sri Lanka relations.

During the inauguration, EAM Jaishankar said that the India-Sri Lanka bilateral relations are stronger than ever. It is natural to stand with Sri Lanka during times of crisis, wherein India has repeatedly stood by the countries around it following the 'Neighbourhood First Policy'.
